If you have a stand-alone water heater, take a look at some of the newer heating systems.

They incorporate the hot water into the boiler.

For my dollars I don’t want to spend money on an oil fired water heater that’s separate from my boiler. (continues below)

By incorporating the two, I’m getting the most efficiency and I don’t have two separate burners running at the same time.

It just makes better economic sense.

The nice part about it is when your house thermostat calls for heat, the boiler not only heats your home, but it heats your tap water too.

If you were to compare it against the stand-alone water heater, you’re essentially getting your hot water FREE.

Savvy Consumers Consider Advantages of Heating Oil First

Today’s domestic heating oil systems make heating oil news

Thinking about getting a new home heating system? Before making a decision, savvy consumers should consider the many advantages of heating oil. A far cry from the smelly oil burners of the past, today’s oil heating systems provide clean, safe, efficient, cost effective and environmentally sound heat that provide security against the cold. New technology has created the most efficient generation of domestic heating oil systems ever.

Home heating oil systems burn cleaner now than ever before. And because heating oil burns 400 degrees hotter than natural gas or electricity, your home heats up faster and requires less fuel than other types of heating systems.

Using heating oil means you can keep your supply of fuel on your own property. Regardless of how cold it gets, you’ve got “heating insurance.” On the other hand, in very cold weather natural gas customers can find themselves out of heat due to severe drop in gas line pressure.

Dropping a lighted match into a vial of heating oil puts out the match flame because heating oil in liquid form is well below its flash point of 140°F, the temperature at which it begins to vaporize in order to fire inside a burner. Striking a match in the presence of natural gas or propane and the fuel bursts into flames.

In the old days, oil burners were known to be inefficient combusters. But thanks to breakthrough technology, modern oil heating systems are high-efficiency, low emission combusters that give you more for your oil heating dollar even as they keep the air you breathe cleaner.

Heating with oil is cost-effective because heating oil prices are 2.5 to 5.5 times lower than electricity. Converting from gas to oil heat can substantially reduce energy costs as older gas heaters frequently operate at less than 70% efficiency. While the installed cost of an electric heat system appears attractive the annual operating costs quickly exceed first time savings. In the majority of cases, converting to efficient oil heat offers a very good payback.

Home heating oil is environmentally sound. It’s biodegradable, non-toxic and contains no proven cancer-causing agents. Correctly installed residential heating oil tanks are not a danger to the environment or to human health. In fact, home oil burners produce less than .003 of all the particulate emissions in the U.S. Electric, coal and wood heat are far more harmful the quality of the air we breathe.

Oil heat is safe. Properly installed and routinely maintained, modern oil heating systems are safer than natural gas systems. In fact, the Consumer Product Safety Commission reports that gas-fueled appliances cause far more deaths from carbon monoxide than do liquid-fueled appliances! Another important safety advantage is that even if a leak should occur, heating oil is non-explosive. When natural gas or propane leaks, an explosive mixture of air and fuel quickly forms.

From John Bogdanski
Wednesday 3:15 P.M.

Dear friend, If you’re like me money doesn’t grow on trees. I hated the winter season. It ment I’d be filling my oil tank often and I’d be wearing sweaters and hats in the house to stay warm and to save money.

I was a puppet on a string and the oil companies were pulling my financial strings. I didn’t think I had any choice besides putting on another layer of clothes and keeping my thermostat so low it was almost off.

That was before I found out some little tricks that made a big difference in my bills.

Here’s how I was able to do it… for several years I worked as a heating oil executive and traveled all over the United States visiting oil dealers of every size and scope helping them with their business. I spent time in the board room, the boiler room, and even the cab of the delivery truck… I saw it all.

That included those fancy meetings at high end golf courses and fancy restaurants with groups like the Vermont Fuel Dealers Association, the Independent Connecticut Petroleum Association, the Maine Oil Dealers Association… I’m sure you’re getting the picture.

Back then when I was “on the job” I was helping to get you to burn more oil.
(I know… the industry as a whole has a big, most times well deserved black eye.)

Don’t get me wrong … not all the oil companies I visited were trying to find ways to pry more cash out of your pocket.

Fact is … I was fortunate to meet some honest people. Some of these families had been in the business for generations and they had tips that actually helped people save money on their oil bills.

As an industry insider I took advantage of what I was learning and I used it to save money on my own heating bills.

The more I learned, the more money I saved.

One of the industries best kept secrets

Walsh Kingston, RI

I commented how conceptually it was a very simple idea that anyone could understand. Additionally, once the burner ran and we saw the BHM working, it was very clear that it was doing its job.

We just received our annual oil delivery (with a 1500 gallon tank, you only need one delivery a year!) and the total delivery was 20% less than what we’ve received each year for the past three seasons. We normally receive right around 1000 gallons – this year 794 gallons. The BHM paid for itself and more in just one season! Thanks again.

Make you furnace burn less fuel with a patented and proven technology
(Sadly few outside of the industry know about it.)

I had the unit installed in my home and last year and I saved $637.50 just last season (That’s 150 gallons at $4.25 per gallon)

But don’t just rely on my personal experience…This product has been tested and approved by two independent National Testing Laboratories with proven results. The more heating oil customers know about the new technology and implement it, the less oil heating oil companies will sell.

Unless you’re in the industry you wouldn’t know this tool even exists.

So what’s a special report like this cost?

Let’s run some numbers and you can decide.

In Connecticut, the average homeowner uses 1,000 gallons of fuel per season, at $2.50 that’s $2,500.00. If I can save you only 10%, that’s a $250.00 savings right off the top - season after season.

Wouldn’t that savings be worth at least $99.00 just this heating season alone?

Wouldn’t you consider it a steal if I offered it for only $69?

Here’s the thing…

I like to help people and not make things any more difficult then they already are.

People understand that heat rises, so everyone insulates their tanks from the top down right?

But people seem to forget one important place:

If you have one of those tube water heaters that stands upright, I strongly suggest that you put a layer of thermal insulation on the bottom of the tank & here’s why…

You will be getting heat loss from the bottom of the tank.

The cold from the floor will effect the water in the tank.

So you are not only protecting the heat from escaping you are also protecting the cold from entering.

It’s one thing to wrap the outside of the water heater, then the pipes…

But don’t forget the bottom.

 Boiler Heating System

73. The right tools for the job, whether its a boiler heating system or not

Some technicians use an older piece of equipment to evaluate your system. It looks like a long glass tube that belongs in Dr. Frankenstein’s castle.

They use it to measure the air in the flue pipe and they write down their findings on your service tag. Those are okay…
But you really have to have a lot of trust in the person using the device.

This tool makes it easy to change or fudge the numbers and it can be used as a great tool to get you to buy a new system or to make it seem like they did a good job when they didn’t.

These older units are not as effective or as fudge-proof as the new high tech instruments’ that are being used by the more progressive oil companies.

Personally, I prefer the new electronics available today; they make printouts with all the information similar to a cash register receipt.

They are very hard to modify, very hard to finagle.

The information is there and you know exactly what it is.

More importantly you have a record that you can keep, versus some guy’s word or his best guess. You can see one in use on the video that I’ve included as a bonus.

furnace-cleaners are like chimney cleaners… you know chinmey sweeps :0) only better…
